An Agency Committed to Giving Back and Paying Forward
Matlock Advertising &Public Relations commits itself to Building the Leaders of Tomorrow through engagement, education, and encouragement. On November 18, 2011, Clark Atlanta University (CAU) students majoring in Business Administration and Mass Media Arts visited the Matlock Agency to explore the dynamics of a multicultural agency. The Matlock team shared information about their experiences with working at the agency, what’s expected from recent college graduates, and the potential of the current generation. Kent Matlock, President and CEOof the agency shared his expertise and inspired the students to challenge themselves to become the future leaders with in the industry of advertising, marketing and public relations. Matlock said, “I expect each one of you to be like the people that I have hand selected to lead the business going on within this firm, they are individuals who know their gift and are experts at using their talents to push us all further, they elevate our clients programs, and leaders in their respective fields.”Matlock continued, “The group of people has what I see in all of you, talent, drive, and a desire to always elevate the game.”
The Matlock team also stressed the importance of finding mentors. By the end of the visit the students left with a deeper understanding of what the advertising and public relations industries will be looking for in them when they are ready to enter the job force. The Matlock team also offered all of the students the opportunity to have their current resumes and cover letters evaluated prior to them embarking upon their first job searches.
